From dingy basements to music blogs alike, the warped ambient noise of Shisa has been gaining interest and acclaim. Hoko Sounds proudly presents the release of his album (memory) on cassette. Opening track “Crossing Bridges in Your Car Looking at the Sky” is twisted and melodic, relying on synthesizers, samples and beats to bring you into a dreamlike state. (memory) rises and falls throughout its 45 plus minutes, creating both harmonic ambience (“Yesterdaze”, “Sweet Sptmbr”) and psychedelic soundscapes (“Tranquility Eyes” , “franklin’s whirlpool machine. Shisa’s music is equally reminiscent of the past and future, drawing influence from classic electronica and experimentalism, as well as from contemporaries of this internet culture.
